Empowering young adults through a wide range of activities

Skylark Plus offers young adults the opportunity to build skills to set them up for a fulfilling and successful future. With placements with employers, the young adults can gain valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry, forestry and business. Beyond this, Skylark Plus provides foundation skills for young adults to go on and flourish, wherever their career path takes them. Activities led by expert instructors help foster, develop, and consolidate vital competencies such as communication and teamwork, time and resource management, resilience and problem-solving.

Vehicle Mechanics:

AQA Level 1 & 2 Health and safety. Working on vehicles helps develop skills on planning, preparation and organisation. It also gives the young adults a chance to create a brand and work with local business

Landscaping:

Lantra Qualifications. The Landscaping provides and opportunity for the young adults to get Lantra Qualifications and allows them to work within the community

Building:

CSCS Card. The Young Adults gain experience in building technical and practical structures at a range of sites. Building anything from metal forges to chicken huts.

Forestry & bushcraft:

Lantra Qualifications. The forestry and bushcraft skills the young adults learn can be put into a vast array of life skills. It helps them to develop understanding of dynamic risk assessments and means they can work in the community.

Animal Husbandry:

Range of AQA Qualifications. Not only do the young adults care for animals by building them shelters, they also look after them. It helps develop soft skills and emotional skills.

Adventurous Activities:

Level 1 & 2 First Aid Qualifications. A range of adventurous activities are offered to the young adults. The adventures help with confidence, controlled risk taking and finding their limits.

Risk Assessment

Skylark Plus is specifically for 18-25 year olds. Skylark Adventures has an Adventure Activities Licence (AAL) which is a legal requirement for vocational activities.
